Islamist attacks: Retaliation or continuation?
Islamist attacks: Retaliation or continuation?

Arnab Goswami is a blogger, journalist, political commentator and religious critic from Bangladesh. Due to his strong stand against Islamic extremism and religious intolerance, he was targeted by the Islamic terrorist organisations. The absence of security measures by the country's government forced him to leave his beloved motherland. He is now in exile in Europe. He asked Arutz Sheva to post this article.

December 11, 2017, was a lucky day for the Americans. What could have been a catastrophe resulted in minor injuries to 3 individuals thanks to a pipe bomb malfunction or a premature detonation. The whole world is eager to know how it happened, where it happened and when it happened, whereas the real question should be why did it happen?

In his hospital bed the alleged perpetrator, Akayed Ullah said, “They’ve been bombing [my people] and I wanted to do damage here”.  In reality, the USA has never bombed Bangladesh, the country Mr Ullah originated from. Some news media outlets are already portraying this attack as an act of defiance or retaliation against Donald Trump's decision to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. However, the claim of retaliation inherently raises questions.

It could have passed as an act of defiance if it was for the first time a Muslim tried to attack or kill someone due to his fellow-feelings towards the brethren of the Muslim World. Unfortunately, that is not the case and in 2017 alone there were 9 separate incidents in each of which 100+ people died  due to Jihadi attacks. The last so far was the attack on a Sufi Mosque in Egypt leaving 311 dead and another 120+ injured. According to the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), as of 11 December, Islamic terrorism claimed 7,000+ lives in 2017 around the globe.

Out of 1000+ Islamist attacks which took place in this very year, only 12 of them occurred after Trump's Jerusalem declaration. My question is if Ullah merely retaliated to US President's decision, then for what reasons did his Muslim Brethren carry out similar but obviously more well-planned attacks throughout the year?

The answer is easy. Did the ongoing debate on Jerusalem prompt the Manhattan attack? - Maybe. Was the Jerusalem debate solely responsible for such action? - Definitely Not.

The moving of the embassy bonanza has been a mere stimulant to the ensuing number of attacks. It is not a brainiac that Islam is incompatible with the West. The Muslims who migrates to the western nations, as a result, are rather reluctant to integrate into the society and culture.
We have rejected you, and there has started between us and you hostility and hatred for ever until you believe in Allah alone.  Sura: Al-Mumtahanah Verse 4.

As the Quran sets out the do's and do not's for the Muslims, anything contradicting the Quran must face grievous consequences. Although the Quran 'allows' Muslims to get into a business or commercial relationship with a non-Muslim, once the profitable trade is over, the other party may not find the aftermath satisfactory.
...Kill the Mushrikun (Polytheists, Idolaters, Pagans, disbelievers in the oneness of Allah) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush... Sura: At-Taubah Verse 5

In Islamic nations like my own country Bangladesh, where the Islamic terrorist factions are more or less patronized by the government, the Islamists follow the traditional methods of execution, whereas in the western nations they use quicker measures which require much less time to plan.
...I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks and smite over all their fingers and toes. Sura: Al-Anfal Verse 12.

Jihad or Intifada, it does not matter how much we sugar-coat the brutal attacks, the end result is, Allah in his own word has said,
And fight them until there is no Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism, i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah alone [in the whole world]   Sura: Al-Anfal Verse 39

For a fair portion of the last two decades, we keep on describing these attacks as stand-alone or romanticize them with superfluous jargons like retaliation. And the result of our liberalism? A one-way ticket to Islamic terrorism. The Islamists around the globe have never even tried to hide their intention to rule over the world.
The enemies of the Muslims are America, Russia, Britain and the Jews, the lowliest creatures the Allah created...Allah! destroy all the Jews.
-Salafist Preacher Sheikh Ali Abu Ahmad, Al-Aqsa Mosque - Jerusalem, Israel

Don't delude yourself by cursing Donald Trump for the attack. This is a continuation of a war which began long before you, me, our grand-parents or even great parents were born. This is a war which was started 1400 years ago. If it was solely for the embassy issue, then 86 people would not have died while preparing for Bastille day. If it was a stand-alone incident, then visiting a Christmas market in Berlin would not have ceased the lives of 12 innocent individuals.

Sometimes these attacks do not make any sense. These countries have opened their doors to save humanity in distress. In modern times, Germany or France definitely have no history of conflict with the Muslims either.

Then why these senseless attacks? I was born and brought up in a Muslim country, so like my countrymen, when I don't find any answer, I consult the Quran -
Except those of the Mushrikun with whom you have a treaty, and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor have supported anyone against you. So fulfil their treaty to them for the end of their term. Then when the Sacred Months (the 1st, 7th, 11th and 12th of the Islamic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikun wherever you find them... Sura: At-Taubah Verse 4 & 5

Muslims are somehow depicted and regarded as the new 'Proletariat' by the ultra-lefts. And it is easy to be tagged as an Islamophobe whenever you defy Islamic norms and speak up for your own country and culture. However, to stand your ground sometimes you have to offend the wind.

Don't think you will get lucky and the world will be all peaceful without your solid contribution. Luck is nothing but a combination of probabilities. If you don't flip a coin you will definitely not win the toss. It is as simple as that.
