I have just published a new book in Italian titled “Ebrei contro Israele”, Jews Against Israel (Salomone Belforte Edition, 2014). The book tries to unmask and demolish the members of the global Jewish establishment who are waging a new war against Israel and its people.
I listed the names and exposed the past libels against the State of Israel of US historian Tony Judt, Italian writers Primo Levi and Natalia Ginzburg, Argentinian journalist Jacobo Timmerman, French scholar Maxime Rodinson, German activist Daniel Cohn-Bendit, British cultural critic George Steiner, US playwright Tony Kushner, British historian Eric Hobsbawm, Holocaust survivor Stephane Hessel, US journalists Peter Beinart and Thomas Friedman, French scholars Pierre Vidal-Naquet and Edgar Morin, Polish essayst Zygmunt Bauman, US jurist Richard Falk and British Nobel Prize Laureate for Literature Harold Pinter.
The list also includes heads of NGOs, judges like Richard Goldstone and newspapers such as Haaretz.
Every day, these famous Jews, who also profess the need for Judaism to assimilate in the global environment, describe Israel as a “racist”, “depraved” and “inhuman” entity which must be dismantled. Many of them have assumed key roles in the campaign to boycott the Jewish State.
This Jewish anti-Semitism is one of the most effective forms of de-legitimization of the Jewish State in the world. My book denounces the awesome responsibility of these so-called “Jewish intellectuals” who betray the small and beleaguered Israel in the self-righteous hope to "save" and distance

The novelty of the current war against Israel is that the terrorist assault against the Jews today is also supported by a soft war waged by intellectuals and writers who are helping to turn Israel into the global pariah and the embodiment of evil. It is a new “trahison des clercs”, the treason of intellectuals by Julien Benda which marked the XX century. But this time the betrayal has come from Jews as well.
These are the Jews who invented the dangerous comparisons between Zionism, Nazism and Apartheid. Muslims didn’t invent these. Jews did it.
My book is at the center of the affair as it is played out in the Italian Jewish community. I will mention just a few slanders coming from some influential Italian Jewish intellectuals.
Professor Anna Segre compared me to the traditional anti-Semites. The scholar of English literature, Dario Calimani, called me “inquisitor”. The historian Anna Foa wrote that “with friends such as Meotti, the Jewish people doesn’t need enemies”. The journalist Gad Lerner said that I am “evil”. This is the tone of the attacks.
I am taking these despicable charges quite well, not the least because they are the ultimate proof that I was right and that there is an abyss between these so called “Jewish intellectuals” and the living Jewish People of Israel thriving in its land.
In fact, the best response to these attacks came from an Israeli woman, Aurora Aronnson:
“The truth highlighted by Giulio Meotti cannot please people like Anna Foa, who has become more than once the instrument and the actor in the attacks on Israel and Judaism. Those who as a measure of judgement elected not Judaism nor the defense of Israel, but Italian politics, even the denial of the very existence of the Jewish people, will not appreciate that Giulio Meotti has shed the light on comments which I have no problem to define as anti-Semitic. Even if these comments come from Jews whom Foa considered untouchable, despite, or perhaps because of their constant activity, almost obsessive, against Israel and in favor of our enemies”.
I call them “Ashamed Jews”, like those portrayed in the wonderful novel by Howard Jacobson, “The Finkler Question”. They shortened the name of their group to “Ash Jews”, Jews of Ashes.
As if their Jewish identity resided in the catastrophe of the Holocaust. In being dead. In being weak. In being dispersed. It is the image of the Jew as archetypical victim, innocent, defenseless, the Jew who assumed a central role in the imagination of post-war Europeans and its intellectual élites. It is the supposedly sweet, compassionate and tolerant Jew against that of Israel, whose face is always marked by a sinister grin.
What these Jews call “the sin of Israel”, which they want to wash through the blood of its Jews and the "peace of the cemeteries" - to me, it is a miracle. A miracle which must be defended at all cost.
