Along with the many well known rabbis and other figures who attended, the Mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Lion and the newly elected Sephardic Chief Rabbi, Rav David Yosef could be seen dancing with the yeshiva boys as well as in the large circle of rabbis. Rav Yosef, Rabbi Yaakov Shapira, Dean of Merkaz HaRav and Rabbi Kalman Ber, Chief rabbi of Netanya and candidate for the position of Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi later danced in an inner circle of rabbis.

An emotional moment occurred when a student at the yeshiva who had been critically wounded in the Gaza Strip and lay unconscious in intensive care for days, came to take part in the evening. He was able to dance a bit and was pulled into the circle of rabbis, then read Shir Hamaalot Mimaamakim (A Psalm of Ascent: Out of the depths I call to you, Hashem) responsively with the participants.
