A man was killed when two buses collided on Hayarkon Street in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night.

The man was evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Three other people were moderately injured in the accident and four others suffered light injuries.

The deputy director of the Yarkon region of MDA, Shachar Hezkelevich, said, "Immediately upon receiving the call, forces in large numbers rushed to the scene. When we arrived, we saw a commotion, and two buses which were crushed with broken glass and fallen pillars around them. We immediately performed an initial sorting of the casualties."

Motorcycle unit medics Meir Betito and Elad Mansour and paramedic Simcha Simandaev added, "In the front part of the bus, a man about 40 years of age was lying unconscious with multiple injuries. We gave him life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him in serious condition, while continuing life-saving operations. Seven other victims were lying on the bus, fully conscious and suffering from bruises. We provided them with medical treatment and evacuated them to hospital."
