Yarden Roman Gat, who was freed from Hamas captivity on Wednesday, discovered that her daughter Geffen and her husband Alon were alive when she heard, while in captivity, an interview with her brother on Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio).
Before Yarden was kidnapped, she managed to hand over Geffen to Alon, who managed to escape from the vehicle of the kidnappers.
On Thursday, her brother Liri said that, thanks to an interview that was conducted with him about a week and a half ago on Galei Tzahal and which Yarden heard, she found out that her act of heroism was successful and that her daughter and her beloved husband escaped alive.
Yarden also managed to escape from the terrorists' vehicle together with her husband and daughter, but the terrorists noticed them within seconds and started running after them.
As soon as she noticed that the terrorists were approaching, Yarden shouted to Alon that he should stop waiting for her and run faster to save Geffen. He continued running while she was caught and kidnapped into Gaza.
Alon and Geffen continued to run away from the terrorists and only after eight hours of hiding, did they manage to reach a safe place.
