Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Tuesday met with Binyamin Regional Council Governor Israel Ganz. The two sat for a long time and discussed the security reality and the security threats to the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.
Ganz encouraged the Defense Minister and wished him and the defense establishment success in eradicating Hamas. Ganz said that the Jewish communities in Binyamin are empty of their men because everyone is at that battlefront. “The homefront is strong. Do your work the way it should be done and completely.”
The Council Governor presented the Defense Minister with the security difficulties facing this region and the challenges in safeguarding and defending the communities.
Ganz implored Gallant not to trust the Palestinian Authority because the aspirations of the Judea and Samaria Arabs and the Gaza Arabs are identical. Ganz said he believes there must be a shift into attack mode against the terrorists in this region and the uprooting of Hamas and all the Arab terrorists.
“We are the buffer zone for Gush Dan, central Israel, and Jerusalem. The only reason that what happened in Be'eri, Kfar Aza, and Sderot did not happen in Kfar Sava, Petah Tikva, Modi'in, and Jerusalem is that the Jewish towns are here in Judea and Samaria and the IDF has a strong presence here.”
Galant told Ganz that he fully supports Ganz’s leadership of the region during the current complex time and offered words of encouragement to all Binyamin region residents.
The defense minister also presented the governor with a survey of the IDF’s extensive activities in the Binyamin region.
