Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, came to the IDF operational war room to send encouragement to all IDF soldiers in Gaza.
During the visit, one of the commanders asked Rabbi Amar to bless the combat soldiers currently inside the Gaza Strip and put them on the radio.
"Here is something unusual. The Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem is here, and in a few moments, he will bless our forces. Over," one of the commanders said over the radio. "There is no greater honor than this," replied the Battalion Commander from Gaza.
Rabbi Amar blessed the soldiers and said: "May God bless you and watch over you and protect you, and may you enter wherever you need to be in peace and come out healthy and whole and strong and happy and return to your home and your families, with joy, a crown of salvation and a crown of victory.”
