31-year-old Camille, a live-in caregiver from the Philippines, saved 95-year-old Nitza after she offered money to a terrorist who broke into their house in Kibbutz Nirim.
Camille told Ynet that she unsuccessfully tried to close the window of the saferoom, and then found herself facing the terrorists. "There were many of them, and I was sure they would murder us."
"I stood up and said to one of them, 'Hello, sir,' and then he asked me, 'Where is the money?' Nitza woke up and wanted to fight back and he started yelling at her. I got scared, I told her 'Nitza, please be quiet', and I looked at him."
She added: "I saw that he was getting nervous and I was even more worried. I told him, 'Please sir, she is old and doesn't understand anything, please don't do anything.'"
"I opened my wallet and told him to take everything I had, NIS 1,500, just to save myself and Nitza. I showed him the plane ticket and asked him not to take it." Then the terrorist asked her if there was any more money in the house and walked around as she followed him. He also took her Samsung cell phone, and finally left."
"Then I waited another two and a half hours until the army arrived," says Camille. "The whole time I was sitting with Nitza, we were hugging, and I was worried about her. I canceled the flight, because I feel that I can't leave her. I feel like it's a miracle that I stayed alive. I told my mother that I was going to die. It was a true miracle. I promised Nitza not to leave her until she died, and only then go home."
