A pilot test will begin in Israel in which Israel will allow PA Arab with US citizenship free passage, according to a report in the Reuters news agency.
The crossing will allow dual Palestinian Authority Arab-Americans in Israel as well as at crossings in Judea and Samaria to enter Israel to pass with no inspection. The report also indicates that a delegation from the US State Department will supervise the pilot, which is expected to continue for a month.
About two months ago, an American official told the Al Arabiya network that Israel still does not meet the requirements for a visa exemption due to its refusal to allow the free passage of Palestinian Americans.
"The US administration is working with Israel to fulfill the demands, such as extending reciprocal privileges to all American citizens, including Palestinian-Americans, to travel to or through Israel.
This includes Palestinian Americans in the Palestinian population registry," said the source.
