A young Bedouin driver from Rahat ran over a police officer who was directing traffic during a demonstration against the government's planned judicial reforms last week.
The incident was caught on a security camera. In the footage, the driver can be seen cutting through the intersection at high speed before striking the officer. He then fled the scene.
