Brigadier-General Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesman, spoke Monday morning about the IDF's counterterror operation in Jenin.
"We are preparing for significant fighting within the [Jenin] camp," Hagari told 103 FM Radio. "Our goal is to hit a number of centers of active terrorists."
"We began this operation with a tactical surprise - we added aerial attacks, and that allowed us to surprise them. Right now, we are moving within the camp. There is fighting, but we are still preparing for additional significant fighting."
Hagari added, "There are civilians in the camp, and so our movement places an emphasis on not harming those who are innocent."
"We are increasing our freedom of movement, but we have no intention of fighting the [Palestinian] Authority and its infrastructure, and they are also not engaging with us."
