Lebanon's General Security Service arrested in the Beirut Airport an Israeli citizen who also holds a European passport and was on his way to Iraq.
During his investigation, which lasted more than 48 hours, it was clarified that the Israeli had not intended to enter Lebanon, and only stopped there on the way to his business in Iraq. He was released and deported from Lebanon.
Israel's National Security Council commented: "The arrival of Israelis, even those who hold an additional foreign passport, in enemy countries is extremely dangerous and constitutes a violation of the law. Travel to these countries is prohibited even for the purpose of a connecting flight, which indeed makes the danger more acute. Flying over those countries should also be avoided."
