A group of soldiers abused a new soldier who arrived at their base, a military prison in central Israel.

Galei Tzahal reported that the soldiers tied the soldier to a bed and poured ice on him, tied him to a storage unit, woke him up in the middle of the night for no reason, and humiliated him.

The commanders were made known of the incident only months later. The commanders did not report the incident to the Military Police Investigations Unit as required and only administered disciplinary action. When the incident reached the investigations unit, an investigation was opened, three soldiers were indicted, and two additional indictments are expected.

According to the report by Doron Kadosh, a lieutenant, the soldiers' direct commander, was removed from her position, and it was checked if she was aware of the incident. She will probably be tried as well.

The IDF Spokesperson commented: "The Military Prosecution submitted indictments last Wednesday against three enlisted soldiers, who serve in various positions at a detention facility in central Israel, for severe team abuse of a soldier who served with them. The investigation was led by the Military Police, and throughout it, the soldiers were detained.

According to the indictment, the actions against the victim began when he arrived at the unit and continued for several months. They included physical attacks on the victim, prevention of sleep, handcuffing his hands in several instances, and humiliation through additional means.

After submitting the indictment, the Military Prosecution asked the Military Court to order the detention of the defendants until the end of the process. At this point, the military court extended the soldiers' detention until the beginning of next week. In addition, the officer who served as the commander was removed from her post, and her commander, a Major, was reprimanded."
