Chairman of the Lobby, MK Ariel Kellner, signed more than twenty Knesset Members and the Choosing Life Group (organization for those who lost family members to Arab Terror) on letters to the embassies of Germany and Norway protesting their support of Hamoked.
The Knesset members and Choosing Life group also demanded from the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Welfare to act against Hamoked and its supporters.
The Ad Kan organization recently aired an in-depth two-part expose on Channel 14 which showed the anti-Zionist and terror supporting activities of Hamoked, the Center for Defense of the Individual.
The two-part series revealed how Hamoked provides legal assistance to convicted terrorists and their families, while promoting itself as a human rights organization. It was also uncovered that most of Hamoked’s funding is from European governments.
Following the story on Channel 14, the Knesset Lobby against antisemitism and delegitimization of Israel called for an emergency meeting about two weeks ago. Today (Tuesday), Chairman of the Lobby, MK Ariel Kellner sent letters to the German and Norwegian embassies demanding that they stop funding Hamoked which supports terrorism and mispresents itself as a human rights organization.
The letters were signed by more than 20 members of Knesset as well as Herzl and Merav Hajaj on behalf of the Choosing Life forum of bereaved families.
A letter was also sent to the Ministry of Justice demanding that Hamoked lose its recognition as an Israeli non-for-profit organization for its actions. Another letter was issued to the Ministry of Welfare, demanding to stop recognizing the NRC (Norwegian Refugees Council) as an Israeli non-for-profit organization, because it is the main donor to Hamoked. The letter was signed by over 20 Knesset members from all factions of the government coalition.
MK Ariel Kellner Said: "Hamoked, who is at the forefront defending terrorists is generously funded by foreign countries and works to change Israeli government policy. Additionally, the heads of Hamoked deny Israel’s existence as a Jewish and democratic state The State of Israel cannot come to terms with this reality. The steps that we are taking are necessary and must be fulfilled."
Gilad Ach, CEO of Ad Kan said, "I welcome the letter of dozens of MKs who issued a clear warning sign to the German and other European governments. This is a small victory after a two-year in-depth investigation we carried out at the request of bereaved families from Arab terror, who stand helpless in Israeli courts while facing up against Hamoked and terrorists who murdered their relatives."
"The research uncovered a more than 20-year campaign by organizations that support the murder and the murderers of Jews, both from a legal, ideological, and financial standpoint and are financed with millions of Euros by foreign governments. Throughout our history, Germany and other European countries tried to wipe out the Jewish people and failed, and today they choose to support the murder of Jews through Hamoked and other organizations like it. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must call to order the ambassadors of the countries that support this disgrace, and the Ministry of Justice must outlaw Hamoked and prevent it from standing in an Israeli court by the side of terrorists."
