A 17-year old from Queens, New York was indicted in Queens Criminal Court on Sunday for participating in an attack on a Jewish man walking through Flushing Meadows Corona Park in February that lefty him badly injured, QNS reported.

The teenager was charged with felony assault as a hate crime for joining in on a group beating of Sam Levy, 48, who was walking through the park on the evening of February 19.

The boy was the second teen charged in the case. A 16-year-old was indicted in March.

The teen was indicted on a complaint of 14 counts, including assault in the second degree as a hate crime, two counts of robbery in the second degree, assault in the third degree as a hate crime, and multiple stolen property charges.

Court documents detailed that Levy was in the park at 8:25 p.m. when the group of six teens, including the defendant, stood at the ends of the roundabout he was walking through, which blocked Levy from exiting the overpass. Levy tried to walk away but the defendant allegedly ran up to him and hit him in the back of the head. The blow knocked him to the ground. The defendant and the five other suspects proceed to circle around Levy. The defendant kicked him in the left side of his face. The kick caused severe bruising and swelling to his left eye, and also broke his glasses.

When he tried to get to his feet, the defendant and the other teens pushed him back down and then kept kicking him in the head, body and legs while demanding he hand over all his money.

Levy took out around $200 and his wallet, containing his credit cards and identification, and threw them toward the defendant.

According to the prosecution, some of the assailants continued to assault Levy as others gathered up his valuables, including his cellphone, house and car keys and other items from his pants pockets.

At that point, they continued to assault Levy while yelling antisemitic slurs at him.

Security camera footage taken from a nearby Burger King close to the park allegedly showed the defendant, two males and a female three hours later using credit cards at a kiosk.

Levy was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for bruised ribs, swelling and bruising to his left eyes, and severe pain in his head, back and body.

“Unprovoked attacks on Queens residents, especially ones motivated by hate, will not be tolerated,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said, according to QNS. “This defendant will now be held accountable for his alleged antisemitic attack.”
