The NYPD is investigating a hate crime that occurred in Queens on Saturday near Bais Yosef D’Ulem synagogue during which an assailant drove by in a vehicle and threw a rock at an Orthodox Jewish man, Shore News Network reported.

The incident took place in Kew Gardens Hills around 9 a.m. The 23-year-old victim, who was walking to synagogue, was hit in the leg with the rock. He wasn’t seriously injured, according to reports.

After throwing the rock, the van drove off.

The suspect’s van was described as a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that had graffiti on both sides, Yeshivah World News reported.

The incident is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.
