Rachel Shwekey, the mother of the famous musicians Yaakov, Yosef Chaim, and Moshe Dovid Shwekey, passed away overnight at the age of 77.
Recently, Mrs. Shwekey suffered from severe pneumonia, and her condition had recently deteriorated. She passed away late Sunday night in Miami, where she resided.
A native of Poland, Mrs. Shwekey came from a family of Vizhnitz Hasidim Holocaust survivors. She immigrated to Israel in her youth and later moved from Israel to the United States.
Mrs. Shwekey’s remains will be brought to Israel in the near future. The time and location of the funeral have yet to be determined.
