The holiday of Lag Ba'omer, which will begin Monday evening and last through Tuesday, may not be celebrated as usual: According to meteorologists, rain may put a damper on the usual bonfires.

Friday's weather will be hot and dry in most areas of Israel, with strong eastern winds blowing during the morning hours in northern Israel and in Samaria. Beginning in the afternoon, however, a cold front will gradually enter the area, bringing with it more humidity. Winds will pick up, and there may be haze. In southern Israel, there may be local dust storms. Friday night will be clear or partly cloudy.

Saturday will be partly cloudy, with a significant drop in temperatures. There may be light local rainfall in northern Israel. In southern Israel, harsh winds will continue to blow, and there may still be haze.

Sunday will be partly cloudy. There may be light local rainfall in northern and central Israel. Temperatures will drop again, to below seasonal average.

Monday, the eve of lag Ba'omer, will still see light local rainfall in northern and central Israel. Temperatures will continue to be lower than seasonal average.
