Efrat Amram, a resident of the southern Israeli city of Sderot whose home was hit by a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip Tuesday, spoke with Israel National News about the terrifying moments of the attack.

The rocket attack came two minutes after Amram’s husband parked the car and went inside the house with their two daughters, whom he had just brought back from daycare.

"The three of them entered together, we didn't even take our daughter out of the stroller, and all of the sudden the 'Red Alert' sounded. We all entered the safe room together. We managed to reach it because it's close to the entrance. Usually, we don't make it in time because we have two floors. If someone was upstairs, they wouldn't have had time to come down, and then we realize that the impact is really close."

"We went out, and until now, we were still immersed in this chaos," Efrat said. "The impact was right at the entrance of the house. The car took much of the impact. There was also lot of damage in the house, and I hope we will take care of it as soon as possible."

Aside from damage to the car, many of the house’s windows shattered, and electrical appliances were destroyed when the main power cable was damaged.

"This is really a huge miracle. The journalists who were here didn't agree to film, but the Israeli flag on the vehicle remained white while the rest of the vehicle was scorched black. Thank God the kids quickly pulled themselves together, and together with the neighbors gave each other strength.”

“At 4:30 and 5:00 there were still explosions, but at 6:00 in the morning, it was announced that things were returning to routine. It's hard to grasp. We barely slept all night, if at all.”

Efrat minimized the IDF response to the rocket attacks.

“There was no response. We need to put an end to this. It's not my role to know what the end is, but raising children for twenty years in such a reality is simply incomprehensible. This is no longer a matter of rounds of fighting, but a day-to-day reality. We need to eliminate senior terrorists in Gaza and create deterrence, absorb every way that will bring us back to deterrence and security in our hands."
