Big Media is celebrating Fox News’ misfortune.
Big money…$787.5 million.
But it is the amount Fox Corp has to pay to “settle an election defamation lawsuit” to Dominion Voting Systems, according to the news.
We read that Fox Corp “made false claims against the company,” and thus the gargantuan settlement that has shaken American journalism to its roots.
In terms of national TV news, this an earthquake. The quick question is whether the cable network can recover its good name.
The quick answer is, yes. The goodwill over the years will surmount the damage. Besides, Fox News remains a safe harbor from Leftist overkill across the dials.
Surely you heard all about it from all over the media…except Fox News itself, which would rather forget the whole thing.
But for the rest of them, it’s whoopie.
It’s party time…and see how they gloat, all those Leftist networks, over Fox News’ misfortune; the only Conservative network in town.
That is one Conservative network too much, and if they can get rid of it completely, the world will be theirs without being so rudely interrupted.
Such a nuisance to be interrupted by a Conservative point of view.
Do the clicks from ABC, to NBC, to CBS and find valuable air time gleefully devoted to the harpooning of their rival, which features the finest journalist of them all.
Ladies and Gentlemen…Harris Faulkner.
Fox News has their full attention. The crime wave all over…NYC, Chicago, Portland, LA… gets near-zero coverage.
Fox News…such a yummy target.
The crux of it, far as I can tell, is that the Fox News’ personalities allegedly spoke from both sides of their mouths, saying one thing in public, but something else in private.
Such as loving some notables on the air, but off the air, not so much.
Via emails, they’ve allegedly been caught speaking frankly about, say, Trump…as if?
As if anchors and reporters from Big Media really mean it when they find Biden so flawless and adorable, and say nothing deplorable about him in private.
Buy me another bridge.
Will THEY ever get the Fox treatment?
Something is rotten in the state of journalism.
Take it from someone who knows the business, the newsroom can be an awfully chatty and catty place before going to print or on air.
People speak their minds harshly and irreverently when the public isn’t listening. Ribaldry goes on from deadline to deadline.
Nothing is sacrosanct.
That’s true for Fox News as well as mainstream media. On delivering occasional half-truths, Fox News is the rule, not the exception.
People like you and me, gluttons for news we can trust, what we’ve got here is a choice. Whose falsehoods do we prefer.
I’m sticking with Fox News. The dirt has been dished, so we already know they are not all angels over there…but most of the coverage is solid and true, as are the anchors and reporters.
Do I contradict myself? Very well. But that’s life in the real world.
Two more pluses for me…they are patriots for America, and in their Middle East reportage, they give Israel a fair shot.
None of that can be said for Big Media, and one day the word will come out how for years they failed this country so miserably.
For once, let Fox News turn the tables.
New York-based bestselling American novelist Jack Engelhard writes regularly for Arutz Sheva.
He wrote the worldwide book-to-movie bestseller “Indecent Proposal,” the gambling thriller, “Compulsive,” plus the authoritative newsroom epic, “The Bathsheba Deadline,” followed by his coming-of-age classics, “The Girls of Cincinnati,” and, the Holocaust-to-Montreal memoir, “Escape from Mount Moriah.” For that and his 1960s epic “The Days of the Bitter End,” contemporaries have hailed him “The last Hemingway, a writer without peer, and the conscience of us all.” Contact: [email protected]
