Dozens of Israelis demonstrated on Sunday at the entrance to the Arab village of Auja in the Jordan Valley to protest the spike in rock and firebomb attacks on Israeli vehicles in recent months.
Route 90, the central highway that runs through the Jordan Valley from the Dead Sea in the south to the Sea of Galilee in the north and is used by Israelis, Palestinian Arabs, and foreign tourists alike, runs through the village. The village is located approximately half an hour away from the site where Arab terrorists shot and murdered Lucy Dee and her two daughters, Maia and Rina, during the Passover holiday.
Merav Alush, one of the demonstration organizers, told Israel National News: "It is unthinkable that a tiny village would disturb daily life on one of the state of Israel's main roads. We will no longer agree to be sitting ducks, and if the IDF doesn't do its job, we will come here every day until the defense establishment wakes up and restores security for Jordan Valley residents. We will not take even one more rock here."
