An official Knesset delegation led by MK Danny Dannon will take off for Bahrain Thursday for the first time since the Abraham accords. According to Israel Hayom, the delegation includes MKs Dannon, Dan Illouz, Yifat Shasha-Biton, and Elazar Stern.

The four will participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union conference and meet with the Emirati delegation during the visit. However, the delegation will also have to meet with members of the IPU's Committee for Middle East Questions, where most complaints concern Israel and are submitted by Arab parliaments.

During the session, Israel could face condemnations, and the MKs would have to answer or respond to them. All the while, the MKs intend to bring up the intensification of Iran's nuclear program.

In 2018, the Knesset submitted an emergency article concerning the Iranian threat. The Israel delegation will ask the countries for support and to join the sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

"The IPU is the parliament of parliaments. We are traveling there to represent Israel and to promote the issues that are important to Israel. The delegation's central challenge will be convincing additional nations to join the sanctions on Iran," the delegation leader, former Israeli ambassador to the UN MK Danny Dannon, stated.

"The timing of this trip is very challenging as the Palestinian Authority's diplomatic pressure is breaking new records, which harms Israel's image. But I'm sure that through the correct work, we can bring significant achievements for the state of Israel through the IPU," he added.

The subject of Ramadan, the Muslim month which always sees an uptick in tensions, is also expected to be discussed, including the issue of the Temple Mount, in addition to a response to anti-Israel attacks by the Palestinian representatives in international bodies. The delegation members stated, "Israel is making an effort to reduce tensions between the sides before the holiday through cooperation with all influential bodies and the diplomatic front."

In addition, the delegation will call on the international community to condemn terrorism and the PA's support of terror attacks by paying terrorists and their families.
