IDF, Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and Israel Border Police apprehended early Monday morning the terrorists suspected of the shooting attack in which the late Staff Sergeant Ido Baruch was murdered.
On October 11, 2022, a shooting attack on IDF soldiers was carried out adjacent to Shavei Shomron. Staff Sergeant Ido Baruch was hit and killed as a result of the shooting attack.
Overnight, following a joint IDF, ISA and Israel Border Police counterterrorism activity, the forces apprehended the assailants Obkamel Guri and Asama Tuille, from (Shechem) Nablus, who carried out the shooting attack during which Staff Sergeant Ido Baruch was killed.
The forces also apprehended three additional suspects who were with the assailants.
Since the attack, the Shin Bet concentrated intelligence and other operational efforts in order to locate a hideout apartment where the assailants were hiding.
Overnight, the forces arrived at the hideout apartment and an exchange of fire was instigated between the forces and the wanted suspects. As a result, two suspects were injured and they were later apprehended by the forces. Following searches in the apartment two M-16 rifles were confiscated. It is suspected that the weapons were used by the assailants.
