A Pfizer employee who was secretly filmed by an agent for Project Veritas has described how the pharmaceutical company is manipulating the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in order to anticipate future mutations of the virus and develop new versions of its vaccine to address them.
In the video, the employee, Jordon Trishton Walker, who is Pfizer's Director of Research and Development for Operations and mRNA Scientific Planning, boasted about Pfizer's projects and added that the COVID vaccine has been a financial bonanza for Pfizer.
"One of the things we're exploring is like, why don't we just mutate [COVID] ourselves so we can create... like preemptively develop, new vaccines - right? ... But there's a risk of like, as you could imagine ... no one wants to be having a pharma company mutating **** viruses..."
"Don't tell anyone ... The way it would work is that we put the virus in monkeys ... and successively cause them to keep infecting each other," a clearly inebriated Walker says in the videotaped recording.
In a follow-up to the expose, Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe confronted the employee in a restaurant, with his team filming the encounter. The employee did not deny his words, but insisted that he had been "lying, to impress my date." He then made an attempt to grab the recording device of one of O'Keefe's team, who fought back.
Walker called police saying that he felt "threatened" but told the Project Veritas team not to leave, clearly hoping that they would be arrested. The team nonetheless did leave the restaurant at the urging of the owner. Walker ran outside and tried to stop a car he believed was being driven by O'Keefe from driving away; however, it was the wrong car.
Gain-of-function research is conducted by dozens of laboratories around the world. It involves taking a virus or other organism and manipulating it in order to make it more virulent (or change its properties in some significant way). The Wuhan Institute of Virology, located in the city where COVID is believed to have originated, has a gain-of-function program, leading many to suspect that SARS-CoV-2 leaked from there. However, there are many other such programs in other countries, including the United States and Ukraine.
