I received with great sorrow the news of the passing of our friend, one of the senior rabbis, Rabbi Chaim Druckman of blessed memory.

The people of Israel lost a great and versatile personality who raised generations in Torah, the effects of his work were clearly seen and he left his mark on every realm of Jewish life.

For decades he stood to the right of the Chief Rabbinate, since the days of my late father, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef of blessed memory, who had a deep friendship with him, they fought together shoulder to shoulder to uphold the status of the Chief Rabbinate in the realms of Kashrut, marriage, conversion, and more.

He lead his flock on the highest level and moderately, pleasantly, and cordially. My condolences to his many students and his family. May his soul be bound up in the bounds of life.
