Palestinian Authority (PA) Arabs have recently taken to blinding Jewish drivers traveling on the Alon Road in the Binyamin Region of Judea and Samaria, Israel Hayom reported.
The Arabs, residents of the PA Arab village of Kafr al-Mughayir, aim lasers at the road every night, in an attempt to blind drivers and cause collisions.
Footage filmed by Jewish drivers in the area shows beams of light aimed towards the road from the direction of the nearby village.
"Every evening in recent months, Arabs from the village of al-Mughayir blind Jews traveling on the Alon Road," residents told Israel Hayom. "This is a life-threatening danger."
"The defense system hands out flyers in the village instead of making arrests and dealing with the terrorists. What are they waiting for? For drivers to lose control and be dead, G-d forbid?"
Kafr al-Mughayir is considered to be a hostile village, and recently many rock attacks have been carried out by its residents. Last week, residents from the Jewish town of Kochav Hashahar protested at the entrance to al-Mughayir, holding a Torah class at the site and calling on the IDF to act immediately to end what they called, "attempts to attack those traveling on the road."
"Every evening they blind vehicles and drivers here with lasers, are we waiting for it to end in disaster?" Kochav Hashahar's Director General Reuven Shadur asked. "The writing is on the wall. We are not managing to understand why the IDF is waiting."
An IDF spokesperson told Israel Hayom: "Recently there has been a phenomenon in which suspects from the village of al-Mughayir in the Binyamin Region blind travelers on the Alon Road near their village, using lasers. The IDF takes this phenomenon seriously and works in a variety of ways and in cooperation with the other defense forces in the area to eliminate this phenomenon."
