Sources in the Yamina party said that party chairman MK Naftali Bennett is leaning towards supporting Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's bid for premiership, Kan News reported.

However, according to the Kan report, Bennett has not yet decided whether to recommend him to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

Netanyahu and Bennett met Friday for the first time since elections, at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.

Just prior to the beginning of Shabbat (Sabbath) and the last day of Passover, Bennett tweeted: "I am working with the feeling that our amazing country is not something to be taken for granted. Because of boycotts and a feeling that 'only I am right,' we already lost our home 2,000 years ago. Therefore, I will continue enormous efforts to bring about the formation of a good government for Israel, as soon as possible."

Bennett will meet with MK Yair Lapid, chairman of the Yesh Atid party, on Saturday night, for the first time since the elections, to discuss options for forming a government.
