While seemingly very foreign to our modern sensibilities, and certainly not 'politically correct,' the Torah mandated practice of making offerings to Hashem as a way to achieve inner peace and wholeness, both for the individual and for the nation, has no replacement in the modern world.
Perhaps what many today deem 'primitive' is nothing less than a lost art of connecting to our Creator.
