IDF tanks attacked military positions of the Hamas terrorist organization in southern Gaza Strip early Sunday morning.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said the attack was carried out in response to the continued firing of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip to Israeli territory during the day.
On Saturday, at least 23 fires broke out in communities located near the Gaza border as a result of incendiary balloons that were fired from the Gaza Strip.
Most of the fires broke out in Hof Ashkelon Regional Council and in the Eshkol Regional Council. The fires were extinguished with the help of firefighters who worked alongside the IDF and other volunteers deployed in the area.
Overnight Thursday, IDF fighter jets, aircraft and tanks attacked an underground infrastructure and a military post of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.
The attack was carried out in response to the continued firing of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory.
Following that air strike, terrorists fired six rockets from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory. The rockets exploded in open areas. No physical injuries or damages were reported.
The IDF then struck in Gaza again, bombing a Hamas weapons factory in retaliation for the rocket attack.
