The Palestinian Authority has begun to issue building permits for Area C of Judea and Samaria, even though the territory is under full Israeli control under the Oslo Accords.
PA Local Governance Minister Majdi al-Saleh instructed officials to ignore the divisions between Areas A, B, and C when planning and approving construction for Arab towns in Judea and Samaria, Haaretz reported.
The move follows the decision of the PA government to remove all divisions of land created by the Oslo Accords. The decision was announced in early August by PA Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.
“Israel no longer respects any of the signed agreements and has started to deal with all places as if they are part of Area C. Therefore, we will deal with all places as if they are part of Area A,” Shtayyeh said
