Dr. David Bukay, Professor of Middle East Studies at the University of Haifa, said Thursday he was not surprised by Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s anti-Semitic speech, in which he claimed the Holocaust was not the result of anti-Semitism but rather of the Jews’ social behavior.

"Abbas is the father of impurity. For years I wrote that he is more extreme and more dangerous than [Yasser] Arafat because he is perceived by the international system and by leftists among us as a moderate," Dr. Bukay told Arutz Sheva.

World leaders welcome Abbas because they do not understand how extreme and violent he is, he added. "Arafat did not succeed in removing the image of the terrorist, but Abbas looks like a good grandfather. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Dr. Bukay explained why Abbas is angry at U.S. President Donald Trump and Israel, saying, "Suddenly, after the Obama years, a new president refuses to continue transferring billions to these parasites, he sees how Israel's position is getting stronger and Netanyahu is surviving and no one is succeeding in bringing him down. He sees how Israel is acting against Iran and they do not respond, and the more his frustration grows, the more curses he utters against Israel and the entire world."

"Abbas creates an image as if he wants to reach an agreement, but he is more extreme and violent than Arafat. Israel never exposed his true, extreme and evil face,” said Bukay.
