A bus driving on Route 90 in southern Israel flipped over Thursday after being hit by flood waters not far from the scene of a tragic flash flood that killed nine students.
Earlier on Thursday, a flash flood hit a group of 25 students from a pre-army preparatory academy as they were hiking in Nahal Tzafit, west of the Dead Sea. The students were washed away by the flood waters, but emergency search and rescue teams were able to safely recover 15 of the students.
Nine students perished in the flood, while a tenth student remains missing. Two of the 15 students rescued were injured.
Later on Thursday, a bus travelling down Route 90 near the Dead Sea was knocked on its side by flood waters, Israeli police reported Thursday evening.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
