Against the backdrop of Israel's 70th Independence Day, 70 Israeli leaders and intellectuals will set out for 70 Jewish communities around the world, meet with the communities and strengthen the Zionist connection with the State of Israel.
At the center of the discussion will be the needs of the Jewish communities abroad and the difficult assimilation statistics, according to which more than 4 million Jews worldwide lose their connection with the Jewish state, including 58% of US Jews, 60% of German Jews, 75% of Russian Jews, 40% of French Jews, 35% of Canadian Jews, and 40% of Brazilian Jews.
Among the participants are Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Rabbi David Stav, World Mizrachi CEO Rabbi Doron Perez, World Zionist Organization Chairman Avraham Duvdevani, Nefesh B'Nefesh Executive Director Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, former MK Dov Lipman and others.
"This is an important project that will bring the State of Israel and the Torah of Israel in its 70th year to the world's communities. This is not just about assimilation but also about the distancing from Jewish identity and the State of Israel," Rabbi Doron Perez said.
"The most important challenge of the religious Zionist public in Israel is to take full responsibility for our brothers and sisters living in the Diaspora. We have a lot to say and we must take responsibility for our mission in life, which will bring about a profound change in the future of the Jewish people," stressed Rabbi Perez.
