Yisrael Beytenu Faction Chairman MK Robert Ilatov responded to the police's announcement that there was now enough evidence to press criminal charges against senior members of the Balad party for corruption offenses.
Among the senior officials in question are MKs Jamal Zahalka, Hanin Zoabi and Juma Azbarga.
“Balad MKs are determined and active people,” he said. "They not only use their membership in the Knesset to incite, hurt and undermine the State of Israel and to act to destroy it, but also to falsify documents and conceal monies received from donors, deliberately misleading the State Comptroller."
According to MK Ilatov, "there is no lack of reasons for the removal from the Knesset of Balad MKs: Participation in a terror flotilla to Gaza, the smuggling of cell phones to murderers of Jews, statements against the Israeli flag and its comparison to a rag, participation in conferences in memory of terrorists, and the list goes on.”
"I hope that this time we will be privileged to see the treacherous Balad members expelled from the Knesset building immediately," said the chairman of the Yisrael Beytenu Faction.
MK Oren Hazan (Likud) said that "like Al Capone, in the end of the Balad terrorists will find themselves behind bars because of economic crimes. I don’t know if it's funny or sad. In any event, it’s sad that the state has to find a route that bypasses the Supreme Court in order to put them on trial and prevent their continued membership in the Knesset.
"They should have been in jail a long time ago because of what they are - terrorists!"
