200 Jews prayed at the site of the covenant between the parts (Brit Bein Habetarim) at Har Dov, near Israel's border with Lebanon, where the covenant between God and Abraham was made.
The story of the covenant between God and Abraham is told in the book of Genesis. In it, God reveals himself to Abraham and makes a covenant with him, in which God promises Abraham that his descendants will eventually inherit the Land of Israel.
The special prayer took place this past Friday, ahead of the reading of Parashat Lech Lecha, in which the story of the covenant is told. What makes this prayer unique is its location: On the border with Lebanon and close to positions of the Hezbollah terrorist group.
IDF soldiers secured the worshipers as they gathered at the site and read the story of the covenant from a Torah scroll.
