“We again saw today a clear example of who wants peace and who doesn’t. I will continue to represent Israel’s position with pride throughout the world and to strengthen its international standing. As (the late Likud) Prime Minister Menachem Begin once said, “he who snubs his nose will remain with a snubbed nose,” the Prime Minister said.
Kuzu, a former member of the Dutch Labor Party, is aligned with the DENK immigrant advocacy movement.
When Netanyahu offered his hand to the Turkish-born Kuzu, the MP refused, leading the Prime Minister to make an about-face, turning his back on Kuzu.
According to the Dutch NU.nl news website, Kuzu also wore a button bearing the PLO flag.
On Facebook, Kuzu explained his actions, condemning the Israeli leader for the 2014 war with Hamas.
“While the streets of Gaza were reddened by blood that splashed out of the veins of children in the summer of 2014, the red carpet is rolled out here. That deserves no handshake, but a reference to #FreePalestine."
Kuzu made no mention of the thousands of lethal rockets and missiles launched from Gaza into Israel, the cheering Gazan crowds when terror operations against Israeli civilians succeed,or that the Hamas leadership hides in underground bunkers while no money is spent to build shelters for the populace but is diverted to dig tunnels meant to bring terrorist murderers into Israel.
