In the wake of delays in signing a marketing agreement, Ofer Eini, head of the IFA, announced to the Sports and Finance ministries that the union has decided to cease all soccer activity, except for Israel's national team.

Ofer Eini, head of the Israel Football Association and Oren Hasson, Director of Leagues, announced Tuesday in a letter to Sports Minister Miri Regev and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon that "all Israeli soccer activity has been stopped today". They noted that national team activity would continue as before.

This was due to delays in the signing of a new marketing agreement with the Toto.

Another letter was sent to the budgeting department to tell clubs to make up for the funds withheld due to the delay in signing the marketing agreement.
