Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman proposed a unique solution to Palestinian rock-throwing at Jews in Judea and Samaria yesterday in a meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Knesset.
According to Israel Army Radio, Liberman said he would establish ten new soccer fields in areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority. He claimed that he would prefer to see the Palestinian youth playing soccer than throwing rocks at Jews.
Sources close to Liberman claimed that Liberman aims to employ a "carrot and stick" method, whereby those who encourage terror are treated with a heavy hand, and those who maintain peace and quiet are rewarded with benefits."
They also emphasized that the building of soccer fields won't be the only benefit given to Arabs that maintain public order in their area of residence.
