International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world as a day to recognize women for their achievements regardless of divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
As part of the celebration, the official Palestinian Authority (PA) TV took the opportunity to urge Palestinian women to "remember" terrorist Dalal Mughrabi as one of the prime heroines of Palestinian society.
Mughrabi led the "Coastal Road Massacre" which was one of the most lethal attacks in Israel's history. In it Mughrabi and other terrorists murdered 37 Israeli civilians, among them 12 children.
Palestinian Media Watch reported that a PA TV host asked Director of the General Association for Women's Affairs in Lebanon, Alia Zamzam, the significance of International Women's Day for Palestinian women. The director replied that Palestinian women "struggle" as the men do, and then spoke of terrorist "sister Dalal Mughrabi" as a "source of pride" for Palestinian women.
"We salute sister Dalal Mughrabi. ...Mughrabi was one of the fighting sisters, and it may be that she paved the way so the sisters could continue. She was a source of pride for the Palestinian woman," said Zamzam.
Female terrorists are frequently honored by PA and Fatah officials who praise these murderers as marvelous examples of Palestinian women's liberation.
As one of the many ways that Fatah marked the 51st anniversary of its "Launch," Fatah Lebanon's magazine Al-Quds favorably mentioned terrorists Dalal Mughrabi, Fatima Barnawi who placed a bomb in a movie theater, and suicide bombers Wafa Idris, who killed one and wounded over 100, as well as Ayyat Al-Akhras who murdered two and wounded 28.
