The deputy head of the Samaria Regional Council and local Jewish Home director, Davidi Ben-Tzion, has called on Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) and IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot to fight terror with determination.
"For two thousand years we were slaughtered. In Greece and Persia, in Spain and Poland. We did not have our own country and we did not have a military to stand in our defense," said Ben-Tzion, discussing this afternoon's (Wednesday) terror attack at Gush Etzion Junction. "Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, stop stuttering. We won't agree to further clichés and we won't be satisfied with slogans. We're tired of our brothers' and good friends' blood being spilled like water."
Ben-Tzion further call on the IDF Chief of Staff: "The responsibility is on you. The IDF is not meant to entrench itself and remain defensive. Give the order and go out to strike the enemy. This is your job."
He closed by criticizing the defensive policy to which Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu also subscribes. "The State of Israel will never be able to place soldiers in every corner. The only solution is collective deterrent. When an entire population supports terror, it becomes an accomplice to it and deserves collective punishment. Choose the appropriate direction, but choose already. Better late than never."
