A Palestinian Arab terrorist attempted to stab Israeli soldiers Tuesday afternoon outside the village of Beit Anoun near Hevron.
The terrorist was shot and eliminated by security forces at the scene.
"A Palestinian attacker, armed with a knife, attempted to stab a soldier securing the Beit Anoun junction near Hebron," a statement issued by the Israeli army said. "Responding to the imminent threat, forces at the scene fired towards the assailant, resulting in his death."
The thwarted stabbing marks the second attempt by Arab terrorists to attack Israeli soldiers in Judea on Tuesday.
A group of Arab terrorists opened fire Tuesday morning at Israeli soldiers manning the Abu Dis checkpoint, northeast of Bethlehem.
According to an IDF report, the terrorists arrived at the checkpoint by car and shot at nearby soldiers, before driving off. IDF forces are combing the area in an effort to locate them.
