Yeshiva University (YU) released a condolence statement Friday, after the murder of Rabbi Eitam and Naama Henkin, the young couple murdered Thursday night in front of their children by Arab terrorists near Itamar in Samaria.

"Yeshiva University in Israel and Yeshiva University Israel Alumni join the YU family and the Jewish World in its shock and grief at the death of Rabbi Eitam and Naama Henkin HYD of Neria who were shot last night in a pigua leaving 6 orphans," YU stated.

"Rav Eitam is the son of Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbanit Chana (YUHS 64, SCW 68, BRGS 76) Henkin." 

"Rabbanit Chana Henkin is the founder of the Nishmat Institute for Advanced Jewish Studies for Women in Jerusalem and Rabbi Yehuda Henkin is a known posek and author of the four volume set of responsa, Bnai Banim," it continued. "The Henkins are a scion of Harav Yosef Eliyahu Henkin ZT"L, a major posek in the US in the pre and post World War II generation." 

"May Hashem comfort the family with all those who mourn for Zion and Jerusalem." 

The Henkins were laid to rest in Jerusalem on Friday morning.
