Israeli authorities have busted a terror cell in Hizme, an Arab town just outside of Jerusalem, it was cleared for publication Monday.

The cell members participated, in different groupings, in a long line of rock attacks and Molotov cocktail attacks on Israeli buses and vehicles.

Among the attacks linked to the terror cell:

  • A rock and Molotov cocktail attack on an Israeli bus near Hizme in April; the driver suffered from shoulder wounds and five others were treated for shock;
  • A rock and Molotov cocktail attack on an Israeli bus traveling on Highway 437 toward Kikar Adam in June; the driver was wounded by rocks and shrapnel;
  • A Molotov cocktail and concrete block attack at an Israeli bus traveling past Hizme toward Anatot in July; the bus driver lost consciousness from his injuries and three others were treated for shock.

The terrorists arrested, in a joint operation between the IDF, Israel Police, and Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet), included Mohammed Ahmed Hassan Khatib, 28; Louis Jamal Shuakat Salah al-Din, 22; Rafat Suleiman Ahmed Razak, 21; and Ammar Difallah Muhammad Salah al-Din, 22.

ISA interrogations revealed much evidence against the four men, some of whom admitted to participating in terrorist acts in the area. Indictments against the four were submitted to the IDF court in Judea.
