A disabled boy left inside a shuttle overnight was retrieved by Jerusalem rescue teams on Sunday morning, Channel 10 reported.
The rescue teams arrived at the shuttle parked on Aryeh Ben-Eliezer Street in the capital's Gilo neighborhood at around 7 a.m. after being notified that a young boy was trapped inside.
Peeking inside the shuttle - used for the transportation of the disabled - rescue teams noticed a boy with limited mobility sitting inside a motorized wheelchair.
Rescuers then broke into the locked vehicle and after briefly questioning the boy, learned he had been locked inside the shuttle for the entire night before his discovery in the morning.
After extricating the boy from the vehicle, the rescue teams brought him to Magen David Adom (MDA) for treatment.
Investigation into the incident has been placed under the jurisdiction of the Jerusalem District Police.
Children, and even adults, being left inside cars on hot summer days is a worrying and tragically common phenomenon throughout Israel.
One month ago, a women in Haifa died after being forgotten by the driver of a minibus she was being transported in. And a month prior to that, a six-year-old girl was rescued after being trapped inside a van in the Be'er Tuvia Regional Council.
