State-owned Iranian news source PressTV has reported that the international sanctions against the Islamic Republic are already beginning to be lifted.

According to the report, Tehran's Day Bank held an official ceremony to mark its reentry into the SWIFT global banking system. SWIFT is the secure network that nearly every bank in the world uses to transfer money internationally.

The European Council instructed SWIFT to drop its service to Iran in 2012. Without it, many Iranians could not send money abroad or receive from foreign relatives.

Somehow, this ceremony was not picked up by Western news outlets, though PressTV published its report on Saturday.

If true, it suggests that Iran is already being rewarded with eased sanctions, despite the fact that the nuclear agreement is not yet finalized.
