A former media advisor to Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman, Michael Palkov, has disappeared and police are searching for him, reported Voice of Israel public radio Tuesday. According to the report, Palkov disappeared about six months ago, and there are reports that he may have been murdered, or that he died of other causes.
Yet another theory is that he faked his death because he is running from the police and because he fears for his life.
Police suspect that Palkov laundered some of the money that was stolen from state coffers in the large scale scandal that centers around Yisrael Beytenu MK Faina Kirshenbaum.
Voice of Israel reported Sunday that police found NIS 13 million in the bank account of a suspect, lobbyist Yisrael Yehoshua, who is considered close to Liberman.
Two million shekels were reportedly found in the accounts of Kirshenbaum and her husband.
