Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke to the parents of murdered teens Naftali Frenkel (16), Eyal Yifrah (19), and Gilad Sha'ar (16) Tuesday, following the elimination of their sons' murderers in an overnight IDF and Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) operation.
"I told them that nothing can blunt the pain and bring their children back, but that here is also justice being brought," Netanyahu said. "We did what we set out to do."
"When we found the bodies, I said that the blood of perpetrator of the kidnapping and murder is on his head [an idiom meaning that he will be brought to justice -e d.]," he continued. "This morning, that mission was accomplished."
Netanyahu also noted that he was correct to have blamed Hamas - despite world opinion that the terror group's involvement was dubious at best. Hamas admitted Tuesday morning that both suspects - Marwan Kawasmeh and Amer Abu Eisha of Hevron - were members of its "military wing," the Al-Qassam Brigades.
"I said from the start that Hamas is responsible and it even admitted it," he said.
"I want to commend the excellent work of the Shin Bet intelligence agency," he concluded.
Kawasmeh and Abu Eisha were killed in a gunfight overnight Monday/Tuesday after resisting arrest by the IDF and ISA. The two Hamas terrorists were responsible for the kidnap and murder of the three teens, which prompted a nationwide search and IDF operation for their arrest and capture and plunged both Israelis and Jews worldwide into a weeks-long push to find the boys.
