The work has been finalized on a stone memorial, constructed in honor of the three teens abducted and murdered by Hamas terrorists on June 12: Naftali Frenkel (16), Gilad Sha'ar (16) and Eyal Yifrah (19) hy''d.
The new monument was built next to the bus-stop and hitchhiking station where the three were abducted, in the Gush Etzion area of Judea.
On June 30, the day the bodies of the three were found after the intensive 18-day search of Operation Brother's Keeper, the idea to construct the memorial was raised by youth from Bat Ayin, a community in Gush Etzion.
"This monument is a symbol for us as a memorial to the struggle. A memorial of those dear ones beloved by all of us, and a struggle for our land and our rights to settle in the land of Israel," said Davidi Perl, head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council
The memorial features ornamental shrubbery and three olive trees donated by the Ganei Hevron Nursery, which were planted around the central stone monument. The three trees symbolize each of the three teens who were tragically murdered.
On a stone plaque erected adjacent to the monument are inscribed the words "the nation rises up like a lion" (Numbers 23:24). Youth from the region dedicated time from their summer break to take part in the project.
