Finance Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) visited the house of four year-old mortar shell victim Daniel Tragerman hy''d Monday afternoon during the shiva (mourning) period, and gave a special warning to Hamas.

"Hamas leaders should know that they will pay for the death of Daniel and what they are doing to the residents of the South," Lapid said upon leaving the Tragerman home, which is in Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

"There is something wrong in the world when you come to sit shiva with a family that has lost a four-year old," he added. "There are no answers."

Gila and Doron Tragerman, Daniel's parents, spoke to the media Monday afternoon and revealed that they - like many residents in the Gaza Belt - would not be returning to Nahal Oz at the end of the seven-day mourning period.

"It happened so fast, in three seconds," Doron stated at the noon press conference. "You realize it's not close to an open area, unless it landed on me, it's right here beyond the walls."

"We are trying to get out of this horror, and we leave Daniel behind us," he added.

Daniel was reportedly at home when the shell was fired Friday, directly hitting a car that was parked near the home. Unfortunately, Daniel did not have enough time to reach a secure area and was hit by shrapnel.

Magen David Adom crews who were called to the scene tried to resuscitate Daniel but were unsuccessful and pronounced him dead.

On Saturday, the IDF clarified the circumstances of Daniel's death, saying Hamas terrorists from its "military wing," the Al-Qassam Brigades, had fired the deadly mortar shell from a site "adjacent to the Jafar Ali Ibn Taleb school in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City."

Daniel was buried Sunday at the Hevel Shalom cemetery in the Eshkol Region.
