
Six people were injured, three of them seriously, when a mortar shell fired by Gaza terrorists struck the Eshkol region Thursday evening.
The casualties were evacuated by helicopter to Soroka and Tel Hashomer hospitals.
Earlier Thursday, residents of the Shaar Hanegev region were warned of a possible infiltration and asked to stay inside their homes.
Hamas terrorists fired rockets at Gush Dan at 6:00 pm Thursday, sparking "code red" sirens in Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak, Givat Shmuel, Givatayim, Ramat Gan and Ramat Ef'al.
The Iron Dome missile defense system successfully intercepted two rockets over Tel Aviv.
Earlier, a rocket hit a house in Kiryat Gat. One person sustained moderate to severe injuries. He was evacuated to Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital after being treated by medics from both Ichud Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA).
'Code red' sirens sounded in Ashkelon and the Gaza Belt as well. Two rockets were intercepted in Ashkelon and four rockets exploded in open areas.
Earlier Thursday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed not to stop Operation Protective Edge in Gaza until the job is "done" - and not before.
"Until now, we have destroyed dozens of terror tunnels and we are determined to complete the mission with or without a ceasefire," he said. "I will not agree to any proposal that does not allow for this."
